Type 1 diabetes
Type 1 diabetes is a chronic condition affecting around 9 million people globally in which the pancreas produces little or no insulin. Type 1 diabetes usually appears in adolescence, but can be developed later in life.
Treatment aims at maintaining normal blood sugar levels through regular monitoring, insulin therapy, diet, and exercise, however new therapies are being researched that also aid in weight loss for type 1 diabetics.
Texas Valley Clinical Research is enrolling adults 18+yrs old who have been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and are currently only taking insulin for diabetes management to participate in related studies. Learn more today!
