ACRP Certification: The TVCR Goal

May 30, 2025

Raising the Bar for Clinical Research in the Rio Grande Valley

We’re thrilled to share some exciting news—Claudia Luna-Meza, TVCR's Clinical Research Coordinator in Weslaco, has officially earned her Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC®) credential from the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP)!

This is a major milestone, not just for Claudia, but for Texas Valley Clinical Research as a whole. She is now our first ACRP-certified team member, setting a new standard of excellence for our clinic and the communities we serve.

What This Certification Means for Our Patients and Sponsors

The CCRC® certification is recognized worldwide as a gold standard in clinical research professionalism. It validates advanced knowledge and skills in:

  • Research ethics – ensuring every study is conducted with integrity and respect for participants.
  • Regulatory compliance – meeting or exceeding national and international standards for safety and accuracy.
  • Participant safety – making sure every step of the trial process prioritizes well-being and protection.

For our patients, this means your care is in the hands of highly trained professionals. For our clinical trial sponsors, it means working with a team that meets rigorous industry benchmarks for quality and reliability.

Why ACRP Certification Matters

ACRP has been setting the standard for clinical research excellence for more than 30 years, with over 42,000 professionals certified worldwide. Their programs are accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) and focus on real-world applications of knowledge—ensuring certified professionals can translate skills into better trial operations, stronger patient protections, and improved sponsor satisfaction.

By investing in certification, TVCR is:

  • Enhancing quality in every phase of clinical trials.
  • Mitigating risk with independently validated competencies.
  • Supporting professional growth for our team members.
  • Standing out as a trusted partner for sponsors and a safe, caring place for patients.

A Step Toward a Bigger Goal

Claudia’s accomplishment is only the beginning. At TVCR, we’re committed to having every member of our team earn an ACRP certification—further reinforcing our dedication to conducting clinical trials with the highest level of professionalism.

Several of our staff members are already preparing for their exams, and we look forward to sharing more certification milestones as we continue raising the bar for clinical research in the Rio Grande Valley.
