Celebrating Community at Alfresco Weslaco

On August 21, Historic Downtown Weslaco came alive for Alfresco Weslaco: Music & Art on the Street – Back-to-School Bash. Hosted by the Weslaco Economic Development Corporation (EDC), this free, family-friendly street festival transformed Historic Downtown into a lively gathering spot, featuring over 100 vendors, live music, delicious street food, and a showcase of local art and crafts.

As proud Platinum Sponsors, we were thrilled to be part of this celebration of community, culture, and small business. The evening was filled with energy, laughter, and a shared sense of community.

Highlights from the Back-to-School Bash

Attendees enjoyed a wide variety of entertainment and activities, including performances by:

• Kikker Daddy Legacy, who wowed the crowd with live music.
• Combat Cult Wrestling, who kept audiences on edge with thrilling matches.
• Bittersweet K-Pop Dance Team, who lit up the stage with vibrant choreography.
• Weslaco Panther Cheer Youth Squad, who brought energy and school spirit.

And of course, it wouldn’t be a Back-to-School Bash without student fun—more than 500 backpacks were available free of charge, along with face painting and bookmark making to keep kids engaged.

Looking Ahead

But the fun doesn't stop there! Alfresco Weslaco continues every third Thursday of the month through February. The next event is scheduled for Thursday, September 18, from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM in Historic Downtown Weslaco.
